Working together with the Centre for Education and Training of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, The 6th Introduction to Indonesia program was held at the Foreign Affair’s Centre for Education and Training building in Jakarta from May 13 to July 3, 2013. The training participants are Diplomats of various countries such as Republic of Belarus, Portugal, Republic of Peru, State of Palestine, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Mexico, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Fiji, Russian Federation, Hungary, Denmark, Republic of Yemen, Cambodia, Federal Republic of Germany, Ecuador and DPR Korea.
Held in three different levels, beginner, intermediate and advanced, All of the teaching materials are specifically tailored using various examples of day-to-day topics diplomats might encounter in their professional and social life such as social, economy, culture, politics, Indonesia history, etc.
America’s Unofficial Ambassadors and Institute of International Studies-Universitas Gadjah Mada
In collaboration with Gadjah Mada University’s Institute of International Studies (IIS), Realia held a Bahasa Indonesia training for the volunteers of America’s Unofficial Ambassadors (AUA) from June 25 to July 24 2013. The training was the initial part of AUA’s 2013 Summer Service program and it is held prior to volunteers’ deployment to their respective service areas across Indonesia
For this training, Realia developed the AUA SUMMER SERVICE Exercise Book which is specifically tailored for the young volunteers who are going to be placed in several organizations in Indonesia, it is equivalent to the beginner stock text book with vocabularies, sentence structures, phrases and activities made suitable to AUA’s issues and sectors.
Kyneton Secondary College, Victoria, Australia
From June 27 to July 8 2013, KYNETON Secondary College students took the 2013 Summer Course program at Realia. For this purpose Realia specifically tailored a syllabus for the students which includes in-class sessions as and fieldtrips to places of interests such as Prambanan, Kraton, Kota Gede as well as visiting Islamic High School “MAN GODEAN” Yogyakarta.
Picture clock-wise: in class session, students practice Bahasa Indonesia by interviewing a woman worker in a cigar (one of the oldest) factory in Yogyakarta, interacting with fellow students from MAN Islamic school, practise to make and serve Yogyakarta’s most famous delicacy ‘Bakpia’.
